Posted Feb 24, 2021yeah, your spell is missing a looooot.
1) how strong is the acid? Does it deal damage or only poison people, and if the latter why is it an acid cloud?
2) how often do people need to make a save against it, if they have to at all, and if so why is it a strength save and not a CON save?
3) Why a 30 second (5 action) cast time?
4) If it takes gold, why does it not have a material component, unless the point is to not consume the gold and have it basically be a "I have money so I make the rules" spell?
5) Is it a 1000 foot radius or diameter? Either way that is literally around a quarter mile of people just being poisoned or possibly damaged each turn.
6) Is this supposed to be some like anime meme spell or something? Because if so you can't even really tell because it lacks so much information.

Posted Apr 19, 2024i'd genuinely allow this in my game, because i've never seen one of these edgy stupid overpowered make-my-OC-super-cool spells. That is *SO* easy to monkey's paw.
Ok. Sure. You're surrounded by a cloud of acid now. I'm gonna say it's a Kilometre long because thats the average size for a cloud which is the only thing i can go off of for size by your description. Also because it's not a concentration spell, it's just there for 20 days, you cant remove it.
I'm going to be merciful and let you be immune to the acid even though the spell fails to specify that. So you get to watch as the walls around you crumble, the mortar sloughing down as acidic foam, all your gold coins shrinking and melting like biscuits in hot tea.
Noone who'd take this spell would have "friends" because they're too edgy. But. All those NPCs you wanted to bang and/or be worshipped by? screaming in agony and dying slowly. All those enemies you wanted to monologue at about your tragic backstory for 3 hours before killing them? cant hear you, their eardrums are already gone. The King? has noticed that a random dumbass just turned his edgy self into a magical WMD and has declared war on you specifically.
and in a world where this spell is possible? you better believe the King's royal battle-wizards will have some equally ridiculous but infinitely more well thought out spells
