You evoke a vortex of winds to bind fast one creature you can see within range. The creature’s speed is reduced to 0 and, if airborne, it is prevented from falling. A successful Dexterity saving throw allows the creature to avoid the winds, ending the spell for that creature.
While bound, the creature can only hear the roar of winds, though it is not prevented from speaking. Likewise, the creature cannot be heard by others. If the creature is concentrating on a spell, it must roll a DC 15 concentration check when it is first affected or lose concentration. Attacks made both by and against the creature have disadvantage. Spells or other effects that rely on language do not function in either direction through the binding winds.
If a gargantuan creature is bound by the winds, the spell automatically ends at the end of the creature’s turn. A huge creature can roll a Strength saving throw at the end of its turn each round to end the spell. Any other creature can use its action to roll a Strength saving throw to end the spell.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can bind one additional creature per slot level above 2nd.
