The next time you hit a target with a melee weapon attack during the spell's duration, the precision of your slash becomes perfect, and the attack deals an extra 2d8 slashing damage on the next target. Objects not being worn or carried take double the damage of the attack.
If the attack is against a creature and it is a critical hit, you can choose to sever a body member (fingers, leg, tail, and so on) so long as the loss of the body member doesn't instantly kill the creature. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage or the GM decides that the body member is too big for it to be severed with your weapon.
If the target is reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to slice it in half. If the target is a creature, it dies if it can't survive being cut in half. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage or the GM decides that the creature is too big for it to be cut in half with your weapon.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the extra damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
