Through a long and intricate ritual, you create an army of magical humanoid servitors known as Arcane Servitors. These creations are designed to assist with menial and intellectual tasks. Though weak physically and incapable of combat, they possess the intelligence to handle complex mental challenges, such as teaching, problem-solving, and acting as advisors or assistants in a variety of fields. The servitors are not mimics or replicas of existing creatures; instead, they are original humanoid constructs shaped by the caster’s intentions.
The servitors lack physical might and offensive magical abilities but are capable of casting simple utility cantrips to assist in day-to-day tasks.
Arcane Servitor Properties
Upon completing the ritual, you summon 2d6 + your spellcasting modifier Arcane Servitors. Each servitor has the following base properties:
- Armor Class: 10
- Hit Points: 8
- Speed: 30 ft.
- Strength: 6
- Dexterity: 10
- Constitution: 6
- Intelligence: 14
- Wisdom: 12
- Charisma: 8
Magical Abilities:
Arcane Servitors have limited magical capabilities, restricted to the following cantrips, which they can cast at will:
- Mage Hand
- Light
- Message
- Prestidigitation
These spells are used primarily to assist in everyday tasks, such as cleaning, moving objects, sending simple messages, or illuminating dark areas.
Servitor Capabilities
Arcane Servitors are highly intelligent for constructs, able to perform complex intellectual tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assisting in research and academic pursuits.
- Acting as scribes or record-keepers.
- Managing day-to-day operations of a household, workshop, or library.
- Teaching others in various fields, based on the knowledge imparted to them by the caster.
- Acting as translators or information brokers, depending on their knowledge base.
Despite their intellect, Arcane Servitors are designed for subservience. They will never take independent action unless explicitly instructed and remain entirely loyal to the caster, obeying commands unconditionally. They can communicate fluently in any languages their caster knows.
Limitations
Arcane Servitors are ill-suited for combat. Their physical weakness and lack of offensive magic make them entirely ineffective in any situation requiring combat or defense. If a servitor is attacked, it will attempt to flee rather than fight. Any amount of serious damage (more than 5 points from a single attack) causes the servitor to disintegrate into dust, leaving no trace behind.
Additionally, the servitors are magically bound to their creator. If they move beyond a 1-mile radius of the caster, they immediately fall inert and remain so until they are within range once more.
Creation Process
The ritual requires a large magical circle to be inscribed on the ground, incorporating rare gemstones and precious metals as key components, along with a personal sacrifice of the caster's blood. Once the circle is prepared and the 12-hour casting time is completed, the servitors rise from the center of the circle, fully formed and ready to serve.
Each servitor is humanoid in appearance, though they bear an unnatural, slightly otherworldly aesthetic, as determined by the caster during their creation. Their appearance can vary greatly depending on the caster’s desires, but they will always possess a vaguely ethereal or arcane quality.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the number of servitors you create increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 6th. Additionally, for every two levels above 6th, the servitors gain an additional cantrip they can cast (from the wizard or sorcerer spell lists), chosen at the time of creation.
