You place a magic Glyph onto the ground, that reacts like a bear trap when someone or something gets too close.
When a creature gets within 5ft of the Glyph, it triggers, causing large vines lined with spikes to spring forth and try to trap the target. When triggered, every creature in a 5ft radius of the Glyph must make a dexterity saving throw to avoid the vines, the DC is equal to the casters spell DC.
Any creature that fails the DC, becomes grappled and takes 1d10 piercing dmg for every turn that they are grappled in the vines. A creature may attempt an athletics roll to escape the vines on their turn, DC equal to casters spell DC. The grappled creature can also damage the vines, so can others. The vines have a AC of 13, 50 hit points and are vulnerable to slashing damage.
The caster of the spell, may cast the spell at a higher level to increase the damage that the vines do, for every level of spell slot above the base spell level used, the damage increases by 1d10 piercing damage.
level 3, 1d10
level 4, 2d10, increasing the spell slot used to cast this spell can be done up to a maximum of level 5, or 3d10 per round. Also, the vines hit points and AC increase when increasing the spell slot used.
