You flick the drop of water towards the target as the spell takes hold, filling their mouth with water. A creature affected by this spell cannot speak, use verbal components of spells, or breathe properly for the duration. Concentration checks made by the target are done at disadvantage.
At the end of the creature's turn it may roll a Wisdom save, dispelling the effect on a success. If the target fails ten times in a row, they fall unconscious through suffocation.
This spell does not affect constructs or creatures who have no need to breathe or are amphibious (can breathe in water as well as air) or aquatic.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You can target an additional creature for each spell slot level above 1, up to a maximum of four targets.
