You command the vines to grow rapidly from the ground, entwining and trapping your enemies within a cage of vegetation.
You create a 20-foot radius cage of thick, thorny vines that sprout from the ground in a point you choose within range. Any creature caught within the area when the spell is cast must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is restrained within the vine cage and takes 4d8 piercing damage at the start of each of its turns while restrained. The creature can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC to try and break free from the vines.
The vine cage is difficult terrain for all creatures except for you, and any creature that starts its turn within the cage or enters it for the first time on a turn must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d8 piercing damage.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
