You conjure an unsettling wall of pure darkness from the Shadowfell within range. The wall appears in any orientation you choose: horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or rounded. It can be free floating, or it can rest on a solid surface. The wall can be up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 5 feet thick. The wall blocks line of sight, but creatures and objects can pass through it. Creatures within the wall are blinded.
When the wall appears, wispy black shadows reach out to each creature in its area to infect its mind with terror. Each creature must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 5d6 psychic damage, and it is paralyzed until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and isn’t paralyzed. Whenever a creature enters the wall's space or ends its turn there, it must make a Constitution saving throw or suffer the same effects. On a successful save, a creature it cannot be paralyzed or damaged by this spell for 24 hours.
Non-magical light, as well as light created by spells of 5th level or lower, can't illuminate the wall's area. Light created by spells of 6th level or higher can temporarily dispel the wall for one turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 5th.
