You summon a set of cursed iron chains to your hand, commanding them to ensnare a creature you can see within range. The chains are summoned from a lower plane of your choice, and are imbued with its energy. The chains may burn with the fury of the Nine Hells, exude the endless chill of the pits of Carceri, or squirm with the shadows of Hades, dealing fire, cold, or necrotic damage respectively.
The target must make a Strength saving throw, becoming restrained by the chains on a failure. As a bonus action on the turn you summon them and on subsequent turns, you may cause a creature restrained by the chains to move up to 20 feet in any direction, as long as they remain within 60 feet of you. At the start of each of its turns, a creature restrained by the chains takes 4d10 damage of the type appropriate to the plane you summoned the chains from: fire damage for the Nine Hells, cold damage for Carceri, or necrotic damage for Hades. The restrained creature can repeat its saving throw as an action on each of its turns, freeing itself from the chains on a success. The spell ends early when the target escapes, or if you choose to end it early (no action required).
