School of Soul Magic. Casting this spell requires expending a number of Soul Shards equal to the level of the spell. Any character without Soul Shards who attempts to cast this spell immediately drops to 0 Hit Points after casting it and begins making Death Saving Throws. Their Hit Points can only be increased once they have stabilized and can only be stabilized by succeeding on three Death Saving Throws. If they die while in this state, they cannot be revived by any means short of a Wish spell.
You attempt to implant a parasitic fragment of your soul into a creature you can see within range. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw or takes 3d6 Necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns for 1 minute as the parasite eats away at its essence. You regain Hit Points equal to the Necrotic damage dealt.
You must use a Bonus Action on each of your subsequent turns to keep this effect active. An affected creature can take a Magic action to end this effect.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. The damage increases by 1d6 for each spell slot level above 3.
This spell is intended for use with the Soulbreaker Wizard Homebrew Subclass.
