School of Soul Magic. Casting this spell requires expending a number of Soul Shards equal to the level of the spell. Any character without Soul Shards who attempts to cast this spell immediately drops to 0 Hit Points after casting it and begins making Death Saving Throws. Their Hit Points can only be increased once they have stabilized and can only be stabilized by succeeding on three Death Saving Throws. If they die while in this state, they cannot be revived by any means short of a Wish spell.

You create an ethereal chain of soul energy that binds you and up to two creatures you can see, which must be within 15 feet of each other. The targets must succeed on a Strength saving throw or become Restrained for 1 minute. A creature Restrained in this way can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn, ending the effect on a success. While any target is Restrained by this ability, you are also Restrained by the same soul chain.

You can end the spell early as an action, but doing so causes you to take 1d8 Necrotic damage for each other creature currently Restrained by this spell.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You can target an additional creature for each spell slot level above 2; however, each creature must be within 15 feet of another target.

This spell is intended for use with the Soulbreaker Wizard Homebrew Subclass.
