School of Soul Magic. Casting this spell requires expending 1 Soul Shard. Any character without Soul Shards who attempts to cast this spell immediately drops to 0 Hit Points after casting it and begins making Death Saving Throws. Their Hit Points can only be increased once they have stabilized and can only be stabilized by succeeding on three Death Saving Throws. If they die while in this state, they cannot be revived by any means short of a Wish spell.
You channel a portion of your spirit into a bolt of radiant fire and hurl it at a creature within range. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 1d8 Radiant and 1d8 Necrotic damage.
You take damage equal to the Necrotic damage dealt by this spell, as the fire burns a part of your own soul. This damage cannot be reduced or prevented in any way. You regain any Soul Shards used to cast this spell at the end of your turn.
Cantrip Upgrade. The Radiant and Necrotic damage dealt to both the target and you increases by 1d8 when you reach levels 5 (2d8), 11 (3d8), and 17 (4d8).
This spell is intended for use with the Soulbreaker Wizard Homebrew Subclass.
