You utter a phrase of absolute nonsense, to everyone else that is, the target understands the words and their mind suffers the consequences. The target must succeed a charisma saving throw against the caster's spell save dc, on a success nothing happens, on a failure the following effects take place, one at a time, in order, if the target is immune to any of the effects the spell skips this effect and moves to the next one:
charmed: the target is charmed by the caster, they believe them to be a close ally
confused: the target is under the effects of the confusion spell, still saving against this spell ignoring any other effects of the confusion spell.
enraged: the target becomes enamored with the idea of ending your life, they have disadvantage on attacking creatures other than you, and cannot willingly move out of a 30ft range.
stunned: the target momentarily stops, and is under the stunned condition.
terrified: the target becomes frightened of the caster.
blinded/deafened: the target becomes blind or deaf, caster's choice.
weakened: the target has a sudden wave of weakness, gaining three temporary levels of exhaustion.
at the end of each of the target's turns, it may make a new save against the spell, however, on a success the spell does not end, the next effect takes place. As an action a creature may also make a new save against the current effect, a legendary resistance only prevents the spell entirely if used on the first saving throw, otherwise cycles to the new effect. A lesser restoration or greater restoration spell resolves one effect, a wish or mindblank spell ending it.
