Description:
The Conjuror's Compendium is a powerful and intricate spell that allows the caster to bind their magical knowledge into a physical tome, granting them the unique ability to cast spells directly from its pages. This spell draws upon ancient languages of the cosmic and arcane, infusing the book with a rich tapestry of magical potential.
Casting Requirements:
To successfully cast this spell, the caster must possess fluency in one of the following languages: Celestial, Abyssal, Infernal, Void Speech, or any other languages associated with creatures beyond the common tongue. Additionally, the caster must have a physical book of any size or summon a 50-page book during the casting. The book must be filled with ink, blood, or another suitable substance that can cover at least 75% of every page.
How to Cast:
The casting begins with a 10-minute ritual that calls for intense concentration. Every two minutes, the caster must chant the following phrase: “From pages of the lost, I summon the arcane; unveil my will beneath the stars’ domain.” During this time, the book and chosen substances must be placed within a 5-foot by 5-foot area surrounding the caster. If using blood as the writing substance, it may be taken from a deceased creature or drawn from a willing participant; the caster should ensure no interruptions disrupt their focus throughout the duration of the ritual.
Once the ritual is complete, the caster can inscribe any spell into the book as long as it is of their character level or lower. Additionally, the spells can be triggered under specific conditions: if an attempt is made to dispel the book, or through mechanisms established by the caster, such as opening the book. A Glyph of Warding may also protect the tome from unauthorized access.
Important Note:
The Conjuror's Compendium ritual can only be cast once every 24 hours. Each use draws temporarily on the caster’s life force, and using this spell more than once within a single day—especially at the 6th spell level or higher—can lead to severe consequences, including unconsciousness or death post-ritual.
