You exchange your life energy for arcane understanding. Draft a list of spells that you could prepare as if you were able to complete a long rest. For each spell on the drafted list that you do not actually have prepared, you take necrotic damage equal to its spell level. This damage cannot be reduced or prevented in any way.

For the duration, you treat the drafted list as your list of prepared spells. The spell ends early if you complete a long rest.
