Piercing

You cause jagged spikes of stone to erupt from the ground in a line 30 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet high, originating from a point you choose within range. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw.

  • On a failed save, a creature takes 5d10 piercing damage and is restrained as the spikes impale it. A restrained creature can spend an additional 10 feet of movement to free itself from the spikes. When it frees itself, it takes 1d10 piercing damage from the jagged edges.
  • On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and is not restrained.

The spikes crumble into rubble after erupting, leaving the area as difficult terrain until cleared.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 6th.

NOTE: You select the starting point and then the direction of the spell, the spell must follow a straight line
