Anthzal's Frogfire

[Verbal Component Notice: You must say aloud the summoned toad's name in order to command it.]

Select a location within range that you can see. Conjure a stubby, flaming toad at that location. If the location is currently occupied by a creature, make a Ranged Spell Attack against that target. On a success, the toad leaps at the target, sticking to them and smothering them in flame, causing [roll]3d6[/roll] Fire damage. On a failure, the toad disagrees with the caster as to where it should be conjured, and instead decides to conjure itself within range towards the nearest location it prefers (usually closer to food.)

Then, the toad hurls itself to a different location or target within 40 feet as the caster commands. You cannot target the same creature twice using this spell. Attempting to control the toads erratic movements, the caster must make another Ranged Spell Attack against the next target, but does not need to roll if there is no target at the location. On a success, the target takes [roll]3d6[/roll] Fire damage. On a failure, the target takes no damage.

The toad can then leap again to another target it has not targeted yet, and repeats the steps above, dealing the same damage. The jump-distance of the toad decreases by 20 feet for each additional leap. So, on the third leap, it has a jump of 20 feet. Once the toad cannot jump more, the spell ends and the toad disappears.

When cast at higher levels, the spell's range, and the toad's initial jump distance, increase by 20 feet. Every leap the toad makes lessens it's next leap's distance by 20 feet. So casting at 3rd level would allow it to leap an additional time.
