This spell uses the skeletal remains of a corpses to create projectile weapons. Choose one or several sorpses of a creature within range. Up to 5 fragments of bones from the corpse splinter off and fly toward another selected target within range. On a successful ranged spell attack, the target takes 2d8 piercing damage per projectile.
The corpse of a small creature has enough material to cast Bone Shard 1d4 times before deteriorating beyond use. Larger creatures provide an additional 1d4 uses per size category greater than small. The caster of the spell must have knowledge of a corpse's location to be used to cast the spell. Corpses in hard cover, such as an enclosed coffin, a block of ice, or buried in mud, cannot be used. Corpses buried in soft cover, such as loose soil, shallow water, or an open sarcophagus, can be used.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. The number of attacks increases by 1 for each spell slot level above 4.
