You conjure a tendril of water from your hand. The lash can be used to target a solid surface within range and attach itself to it. As part of the action to cast the spell, you can change the length of the lash, extending or retracting it. If your full weight is hanging on the lash, it acts as a rope with adjustable length, which can be used to pull you up, abseil you down, or swing from. When attached to a surface, you can do one of the following as a bonus action on your turn:

  • Target a new surface within range, and either extend or retract.
  • Dismiss the lash until you summon it again.

If you use the Lash to attach to a creature, you make a spell attack roll against the target's AC. When attached to a creature this way, you can pull yourself to the target as part of the action used to cast this spell, or as a bonus action on your turn until the Lash is dismissed. The creature can forcibly remove the Lash by making a Strength Saving Throw against your spell DC.

The spell's range increases by 15ft when you reach 5th level (30ft), 11th level (45ft), and 17th level (60ft).
