You plant a seed of madness in a creature you can see within range. The target must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the target’s ability to comprehend language is temporarily crippled. For the duration, it cannot understand any language it hears or reads, and it speaks only in incoherent, unintelligible noises.
To cast a spell with a Verbal component, the target must first succeed an Intelligence saving throw. On a success, they cast their spell normally, and this spell’s effect ends for them. On a failure, the spell they try to cast fails and any slot or resource to be used is wasted.
A creature under this spell can also repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.
