Through the force of magic, you unravel the bindings that hold an object together, reducing it to its individual components as if undone by natural entropy.
Choose a nonmagical object within range that fits within a 1-foot cube (Tiny size). The object is instantly disassembled into its individual parts: clothing unravels into threads, machines separate into gears and fastenings, wooden constructions return to planks and nails, and so on. The materials are unharmed and may be reassembled with sufficient effort.
If the target object is larger than the allowed size, only a portion of it equivalent to a 1-foot cube is disassembled.
If the spell targets a construct (a creature with the Construct type), it deals 2d8 force damage. This spell cannot disassemble magical objects.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum size of the object increases by one category (e.g., Small for 2nd level, Medium for 3rd level, etc.), and the damage dealt to constructs increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
