When cast on a visible creature within 30’ of the caster, magical bonds of force shackle the targets hands. The target must make a dexterity saving throw against the caster’s spell DC. If the target succeeds, nothing happens. If the target fails, their hands are shackled and the target takes 1d6 force damage. These shackles prevent the use of spells that require a somatic component. If the target is carrying anything, they drop the item(s) to the ground. Shackled targets cannot wield any weapon or use items that require their hands.

When cast at 2nd level, a failed save results in 2d6 damage and the target’s feet are also shackled in addition to their hands being bound. The target’s movement is reduced to 0 and they are considered restrained. If the target is moving at the time they fail their save, they are knocked prone.

When cast at 3rd level, a failed save results in 3d6 damage and the target’s mouth is also gagged in addition to hands and feet being bound. The target cannot cast spells that require verbal or somatic components. In addition to being restrained, they are considered silenced.

When cast at 4th level or higher, the caster can select additional targets up to a maximum number equal to their intelligence modifier. On a failed dexterity save, all targets take 4d6 force damage and their hands and feet are bound. Each target is considered restrained and cannot cast spells containing somatic components. Any items being carried by the targets are dropped to the ground. If any of the targets who failed their save were moving at the time the spell was cast, they are knocked prone.

The force damage increases by 1d6 for every spell level over 4th. The silence effect does not apply to targets when this spell is cast at 4th level or higher.
