You use your body as a conduit of necrotic energy to heal one creature and damage another. As an action, you can heal one creature of your choice that you can see within range for 4d8 hit points. The amount you rolled is stored within your body until the spell ends. You can make a ranged spell attack against one creature that you can see within range, doing the amount of damage that the first creature was healed for. If the spell ends before the necrotic energy is dispersed from your body, you take the damage instead.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd.
