You target a pool of blood collected from one or more creatures. The volume of blood targeted influences the stats of the golem. The golem is comprised of blood and retains the mental characteristics of the creature(s) that contributed to it. In the case of a pool with multiple sources, the influence each creature has on the golem is related to the percent volume contributed. If a large number of sources is used, the golem can become unstable and uncontrollable unless the sources willingly sacrificed their blood as a ritual. The blood must be preserved in some way if it is collected over a large period of time. An average human body has slightly less than 5L blood and can safely donate 0.5L per month. If a creature donates greater than 10% of it's blood volume it will suffer 1 level of exhaustion and reduce it's hit point maximum by 10% for every 10% volume greater until it's blood is replenished.
The basic golem is made from 5L or less of blood and is a medium creature with a movement speed of 30, 100 hit points, an attack range of 5ft, and a to hit bonus of +7 for 2d6 force damage. It has a flat +2 to all saving throws. For every 10L beyond the initial volume the movement speed and attack range is increased by 5ft, increases it's hit points by 50, and adds +3 to the to hit bonus and force damage dealt. It also gains a +1 bonus to saving throws.
