You choose an area of sand that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube, or a piece of nonmagical glass that you can see within range that fits within a 1-foot cube. You manipulate the materials in one of the following ways:
- If you target an area of loose sand, you can instantaneously excavate it, move it along the ground, and deposit it up to 5 feet away. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
- If you target an area of loose sand, you can instantaneously cause shapes to form on the surface, such as letters, rudimentary pictures, or simple patterns.
- If you target an area of glass, you can instantaneously change its color or opacity. The targeted area of glass must be changed in the same way throughout.
- If you target a piece of glass, you can instantaneously reshape it into basic shapes or rudimentary vessels. For example, you could create a simple sheet of glass, a simple vial or bottle, or even a convex/concave lens (though, you may struggle with getting precise or uniform magnification); unless you have proficiency with Glassblower's or Jeweler's tools, the items you create in this way tend to be crude and of very low value.
