You surround yourself with a temporal shield that deflects incoming attacks. You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your spellcasting modifier, and any creature that hits you with a melee attack takes 2d6 force damage.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the temporary hit points increase by 5 for each slot level above 3rd.
