You launch a bubbling beam of lava at a target you can see within range. The target can be a creature, a nonmagical object, or a creation of magical force, such as the wall created by Wall of Force.
A creature targeted by this spell makes a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 4d6 Fire damage. For the spell's duration at the start of each of your subsequent turns, the creature takes double the amount of d6 fire damage, up to a maximum 32d6 fire damage. On a successful save, the target is unaffected and no spell slot is consumed.
The spell ends if the target is ever outside the spell’s range or if it has Total Cover from you.
This spell automatically melts away a Large or smaller nonmagical object or a creation of magical force. If such a target is Huge or larger, this spell melts a 10-foot-Cube portion of it and sets the rest of it on fire.
