After crushing the skull of a creature you assume the form of an undead version of that creature for up to 1 hour (increasing by 1 hour for each spell level over 3rd). You transform into an average example of that creature, one without any of the special features of that specific creature before its death.
You retain the benefits of any features from your class and race provided that your new form is physically capable of doing so. You can only speak if that type of creature could normally speak while living. You can cast magic as normal if you have the features needed to cast spells in your new form.
Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the chosen creature with these modifications since you are an undead:
- The Dexterity of the creature is decreased by 5.
- You retain your alignment and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores assuming they are higher than those statistics of the creatures.
- You retain all of your skill proficencies in addition to those of the creature.
- Your speed is decreased by 15.
- All melee attacks you do also inflict 2D6 necrotic damage. Increasing by 1d6 for every spell level over 3rd.
- Once per transformation as a bonus action you may regain 1 hit dice of health (this only applies to the health of the form of the creature). The amount of times you can do this is increased by 1 for every spell level over 3rd.
- You assume the hit points and Hit Dice of the creature.
- Any radiant damage you take is doubled.
When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before you transformed. If you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. As long as the excess damage doesn't reduce your normal form to 0 hit points, you aren't knocked unconscious.
When you transform your equipment merges into the new form unless it is currently held in hand or worn by the caster and is viable for the creature to use. Worn equipment functions as normal. Weapons and arcane focus can be held in hands as normal. The GM determines whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change shape or size to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear merge into your new form. Equipment that merges has no effect to your stats.
