Arcane Revision

You magically alter a written document with precise magical control. Choose one of the following effects:

• Redact: You instantly erase up to 1d10 words of written text from a document. The removed text is completely gone and cannot be recovered by non-magical means, and there is no perceivable blank space in the altered document. If the document is magical, the writing is only erased if the caster succeeds on an Intelligence (Arcana) check against the spell's DC. The redaction will not alter any magical effects present.
• Revise: You can change up to 1d10 words of text, replacing them with new words or altering their meaning. The new text appears a seamless part of the original script, cannot be magical in nature, and will not alter any magical effects present.
• Append: You can add up to 1d10 words of new text to a document, either elaborating upon existing text or adding completely new content. This text appears as if it were written by the original author, blending seamlessly into the document's existing material.

If the document contains magical writing or is enchanted, the effect may be blocked unless you succeed on an Intelligence check against the spell’s DC.

Creatures with truesight can perceive the original, unaltered text of the document.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the number of words you can alter increases by 1d10 words for each slot level above 2nd.
