A cloud of mist surrounds the affected creature(s). The cloud coats the creature with a sticky substance.
In an outdoor environment, as the creature attempts to move, all manner of loose debris begins sticking to the creature - leaves, twigs, dust, pebbles, insects, etc. The creature accrues -1 to any stealth capability for each round. They are unable to equip or unequip weapons, and using a ranged weapon such as a bow or throwing a dagger incurs a -3 to hit for the duration.
Indoors, the effect is to slow the creature rather than to decrease its stealth. The creature's movement speed is decreased by 10 feet (cumulative) per round. If the creature comes into contact with anything other than the floor, e.g. a chair or bed, a wall or another creature, the creature must make a strength saving throw or become restrained. Saving throws are repeated at the beginning of each round.
Submerging in water or a heavy rain will clear the condition in one round.
Using a Higher-level Spell Slot. The size of the sphere increases by 5 feet at 3rd, 6th and 9th level. The ranged weapon penalty increases by -1 (cumulative) at 3rd, 6th, and 9th level. The speed decrease increase by 10 feet (cumulative) at 3rd, 6th, and 9th level.
