A creature that you can see within range must succeed on a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) skill check (target's choice) against your spell save DC or become restrained as chains erupt from below and attempt to tether it to the ground. The target may attempt another skill check at the start of each of its turns to break free from the chains.
Cantrip Upgrade. The number of targets increases by 1 when you reach levels 5 (2 targets), 11 (3 targets), and 17 (4 targets).
