A spectral sentry, taking a form of your choice appears in a fixed point you can see within the range of this spell. This sentry can perceive as if it was a creature with darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. When you cast the spell, and at the beginning of each of your subsequent turns while this spell is active, the sentry fires at the nearest conscious creature within 120 feet of it that has the lowest degree of cover, ignoring creatures of your choice that you designate when you cast this spell. When the sentry fires, roll a ranged spell attack, on a hit, the target takes force damage equal to 2d12 + your spellcasting ability modifier.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the sentry makes 2 attacks when it fires. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the sentry makes 3 attacks when it fires.
