You unleash a searing golden beam of energy from your palm, a luminous lance of pure, unmaking force. Anything struck by Bail Fire is not only destroyed in the present but is also erased from the past. The farther back in time the target is erased depends on the level at which the spell is cast.
Upon a failed Dexterity saving throw, the target takes 10d8 radiant and force damage and begins to be erased from the timeline. If the damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, its body, equipment, and anything it carried or wore are incinerated instantly, leaving no trace. Additionally, reality itself shifts as if the creature had perished at an earlier point in time.
If the creature succeeds on its save, it takes half damage
- 5th Level: The target is erased one round into the past (6 seconds). This can cause spells it cast or actions it took in the last round to be undone.
- 6th Level: The target is erased one minute into the past. Short-term effects it applied to the world (such as attacks, item uses, or spoken words) may be negated.
- 7th Level: The target is erased one hour into the past. Anything it did within that time—travel, combat, conversations—may be undone.
- 8th Level: The target is erased one day into the past. The world shifts to reflect that the creature perished a day prior, potentially unraveling quests, battles, or history.
- 9th Level: The target is erased one year into the past. This may have drastic consequences, rewriting entire political landscapes, changing wars, or unraveling key events.
