As you strike, your blood surges through your veins and violently erupts within your target. Make a melee spell attack against a creature within your reach that has blood. On a hit, the target takes 7d12 force damage, and their body convulses from the overwhelming intrusion of your essence.
For 1 minute, the target is unable to use any racial abilities granted by their lineage, such as innate spellcasting, resistances, or movement-based traits (e.g., a tiefling cannot cast Hellish Rebuke, a fey-touched creature cannot Misty Step and a dragonborn cannot use their Breath Weapon). This effect ends early if the target receives magical healing of 7th level or higher, such as Regenerate or Greater Restoration.
If the target is below half its maximum hit points when hit, they must also make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, they are knocked prone and cannot take reactions until the end of their next turn.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 9th level, the damage increases to 9d12 force damage, and the suppression effect lasts until the target completes a long rest.
