A spell that rips the magical essence out of the casters body through self injuries to summon a person of choice for 2 minutes.
You can use either Somatic or verbal component by itself. The spell caster has to be in some sort of self caused pain (Both Verbal and Somatic). The person summoned has to have an intense bond with the spell caster. Can be any kind of bond. But the person has to be willing. When the person is summoned, they get a “surprise” round where they have one round before rolling initiative.
The caster makes a wisdom saving throw (Dc 18) if failed the caster can't talk for the 1 round they are conscious. After casting the spell, the spell caster stays conscious for 1 round until passing out, losing all hit points.(Not dead) After waking up the spell caster can’t cast spells for 24 hours.
This spell can’t be stopped (etc. Wild magic, counter spell or anti spell gauntlets)
This spell can only be used once a month
e.g.
“The human mage in extreme pain grabbed his shoulders and pulled out a starry body projection, a split second after his full body was multiplied into the starry body it exploded in a bright light. The light subsided as it showed an unknown person to the other party members, standing where the projection once was” (Somatic)
“The Tiefling tied up in an anti magic rope starts chanting and breaking his fingers. “Give it up” says the half orc guard. The guard is then taken back by an explosion of light, and through the light a hand sticks out and chokes the guard. A Tiefling man much older then the tied up Tiefling” (Verbal)

Posted Mar 2, 2021interesting idea, but at the same time the spell has way too many negatives for not enough positives, I understand why and how this would be used effectively but its pretty specific and something just like message would serve the same purpose without all the negatives

Posted Mar 9, 2021I like what you're going for but it sounds more like an item than a cantrip. cantrips as a rule don't have restrictions on how and when they can be cast and can be used round after round, to balance that out they are generally weak or have minor effects. this spell is balanced as a cantrip but doesn't function as one
