With a gesture, you unravel the space before you, creating a silent black hole that drags everything within its grasp into an isolated plane known as Vanishment.
Black Hole Effect
When you cast this spell, a 30-foot-radius black hole appears at a point you choose within range. Any creatures of your choice within this area must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, they are instantly pulled into Vanishment. The black hole lasts for one round before collapsing into nothingness.
The Plane of Vanishment
This plane is an endless void of complete silence, with only a steel-cold floor stretching infinitely. No wind, no landmarks, no escape. Due to the Silence scroll used in this spell’s casting, no sound can be perceived within Vanishment—even verbal components of spells can be uttered, but they make no noise.
Escape from Vanishment
-
Creatures trapped in Vanishment can still cast magic, but no form of teleportation, Plane Shift, Wish, or divine intervention can remove them from this plane while they are alive.
-
The only way to escape Vanishment is through death. When a creature dies, their soul is released and may be resurrected as normal.
-
Time flows normally, and creatures do not age or suffer from hunger or thirst while in Vanishment.
-
The caster of Vanishment may release a creature by speaking their name or their designated code name or draws a picture of them. If the caster forgets or is unable to speak, the creature remains trapped indefinitely.
⚠️ Warning for DMs and Players ⚠️
This spell is extremely powerful and should be used with caution. DMs should carefully consider the impact on their game, as Vanishment can permanently remove creatures from play unless the caster chooses to free them. Players should ensure their party has a clear plan for using and countering this spell, as forgetting a name or code name could result in unintended consequences.
