This spell must cast in the presence of a body which died no more than 1 year ago. The spell closes all mortal wounds on the body, reverses the effect of decay and restores any missing body parts. If the deceased's spirit is not in the Underworld the spell fails.

Additionally, you must form a mystical link to the departed. To create this link you must make a Wisdom ability check with a DC of 20. The DC is adjusted by a number of factors:

-1 per level of the deceased
+1 per previous death of the deceased (including revivifications)
+1 per previous attempt to revive the deceased
-1 to -3 for sacrifices and/or offerings
-1 to -3 per connection present and/or stated during the ceremony. Connections can take many forms, including but not limited to; loved ones present, presentation of tokens of importance to the deceased, declarations of a need, demands of owed service

If the spell succeeds through the first two stages you the and up to eight willing creatures who link hands in the final moments of the spell are keyed to the portal you create. The portal will open in a location in the Underworld within half a mile of the deceased spirit. If the spirit is in the Hall of Judgement you will arrive, on the Spirit Path just outside the gates to the keep. If the spirit is in Elysium you will arrive in the Meadowlands nearby the bridge. Each creature keyed to the portal (and only these creatures) may use the portal to make a single journey to the Underworld and one journey back. The spirit of the deceased is also keyed to the portal. If the deceased pass back through the portal returning to the world of the living, their spirit will re-enter and revive their body with just 1 hitpoint.

Coming back from the underworld is an ordeal. All creatures who return via this portal from the Underworld take a −4 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks. Every time they finish a long rest, the penalty is reduced by 1 until it disappears.
