By invoking the celestial powers of truth, you cloak yourself in a luminous aura that unveils the hidden nature of creatures around you. For the duration, you gain insight into the alignment of any creature within 60 feet. The aura manifests as gentle glows around creatures, the color changing depending on their moral and ethical standings — gold for lawful good, silver for neutral good, crimson for chaotic evil, and so on. Moreover, for the first time in any campaign or setting, the spell also provides a brief, cryptic glimpse into the target's past ethical decisions, described in metaphorical visions only decipherable by the caster. Should a creature attempt to disguise its alignment through magical means, they must succeed on a DC 17 Charisma saving throw or have the illusion dispelled for the duration. The celestial veil is invisible to all but the caster and shimmers with divine clarity, bringing forth insights previously unobtainable. Because of the intricate nature of this spell, casting it strains the caster, making them unable to perform any action beyond basic movement, except maintaining concentration, during its duration.
