Summoning

You form a deep bond with a creature of the natural world, who acts as your familiar. This familiar can be any beast with a challenge rating of 1/4 or lower. You gain its statistics, except for its hit points, which are equal to twice your ranger level. Your familiar acts independently, but it always obeys your commands. In combat, it rolls its own initiative and acts on its own turn. Your familiar can't attack, but it can take other actions as normal.

If your familiar is slain, you can spend 8 hours and expend 50 gp worth of rare herbs and natural components to summon a new familiar. You can have only one familiar at a time.

While your familiar is within 100 feet of you, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to track creatures within your favored terrain.
  • You can communicate telepathically with your familiar.

As a bonus action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
