Summoning

You summon an ancient blackened iron cauldron, suspended over an everburning flame of blue and green that emits no heat outside its basin. The cauldron is large enough to brew up to 3 potions simultaneously and floats slightly above the ground, humming softly with arcane potential.

The fire beneath the cauldron is magical and sustains any brewing process without fuel. While active, the pot grants the following benefits:

  • You can brew potions, using known formulas or recipes (as determined by the DM), in half the normal time required, provided you have the necessary ingredients.
  • You may attempt Arcana or Nature checks to stabilize or enhance flawed, improvised, or corrupted potions with advantage.
  • Once per casting, you may speak the name of a potion aloud while adding the first ingredient—if you succeed on a DC 18 Arcana check, the pot will provide a minor missing component (e.g., a stabilizing agent, water of purification, distilled ether), allowing you to complete a potion you would otherwise lack resources for.

The cauldron remains for 8 hours, after which it vanishes, leaving behind any brewed potions but destroying any unfinished mixtures. You may only have one Pot of Brewing summoned at a time.

This spell does not grant knowledge of potion formulas—it enables crafting for those who have the recipes or experiment creatively.
