You create a cloud of poison that billows out from a point you choose within range, filling a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point. The cloud spreads around corners and is heavily obscured. The cloud lasts for the duration or until the wind disperses it.
Any creature that starts its turn within the cloud must make a Constitution saving throw or take 5d8 poison damage, or half as much on a successful save. The cloud is considered difficult terrain, and creatures that move through the cloud must also make the saving throw.
The poison cloud moves at 10 feet per round, spreading outward from the point you selected. The cloud can’t be directly controlled after it is created, but you can move it around corners and into different areas of a battlefield, and it can block sight and provide cover. It can also spread to an area if wind conditions are favorable (DM's discretion), making it difficult for enemies to avoid.
-
Damage: [roll]5d8[/roll] poison damage (half on a successful Constitution save)
-
Effect Area: 20-foot radius cloud
-
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes (so you can keep it going for a while, making it a great tool to control large areas of the battlefield)
-
Obscured Area: The cloud heavily obscures vision, so it can be used strategically to block sight and create chaos.
-
Movement: The cloud moves on its own and can spread over terrain, so it’s difficult to predict exactly where it will go.
