You select a point within range where the psychic resonance of corrupted Aurite ripples out in an invisible shockwave. With a low-frequency hum that sets teeth on edge and rattles lanterns, the ore distorts thought, memory, and willpower in a 20-foot-radius sphere.
Each creature in the area must make an Intelligence saving throw. A creature with an Intelligence score of 2 or lower isn’t affected.
On a failed save, a creature takes 8d6 psychic damage, its mind overwhelmed by echoes of buried memories, maddening whispers, and phantom miner screams. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
A creature that fails the save also suffers mental dissonance for 1 minute. While affected:
-
It rolls a d6 and subtracts the result from attack rolls, ability checks, and Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration.
-
The target may make an Intelligence saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
