Beard Growth

Choose a female Humanoid that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be affected by the spell. A creature may choose to fail this saving throw. If the target is an elf or possesses fey ancestry, they have disadvantage on the saving throw.

On a failed save, the target instantly grows a long, fluffy beard matching the color and consistency of the hair on their body. The beard has a length in feet equal to the spell slot level used to cast this spell minus one (e.g., 1 foot long if cast at 2nd level). The beard acts as a magical reservoir capable of storing spells.

The beard can hold a number of spell levels equal to half the level of the spell slot used to cast Beard Growth (rounded up). The target may cast a spell of 1st through 5th level into the beard by stroking it as they cast the spell. The spell has no effect other than to be stored in the beard. If the beard can’t hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect. The level of the slot used to cast the spell determines how much space it uses.

The target can later cast any spell stored in the beard. When doing so, the beard levitates and crackles with magical energy. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the target. Once cast, the spell is removed from the beard, freeing up space.

The beard lasts until Beard Growth is dispelled. Antimagic fields and other means of temporary magical suppression remove the target's ability to cast spells from the beard, but the beard remains attached. If the beard is removed through nonmagical means such as cutting, burning, or acid, the spells stored in the beard are lost and it regrows to its full length within 24 hours.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the beard grows 1 additional foot in length per slot level above 2nd. The beard can store one additional spell level for every two slot levels above 2nd (rounded up). At 5th level or higher, you may also target female creatures that are not Humanoids.
