You call down a furious hail of arcane artillery in a wide area, launching 8 explosive shells that rain from the sky or conjure from arcane rifts. Each shell is randomly aimed within range, striking with thunderous force.
Choose 8 points within range. For each point, make a separate ranged spell attack against a DC of 15. On a success, the shell hits the intended point; on a failure, it deviates by 1d10 × 10 feet in a random direction (roll a d8 for direction like a compass: 1 = north, 2 = northeast, etc.).
Creatures within 30 feet of a shell’s detonation point must make a Dexterity saving throw (save DC = your spell save DC).
On a failed save, a creature takes 2d12 + 1d8 force damage.
On a successful save, a creature takes half damage.
Structures and non-magical terrain features automatically take full damage from a direct hit and are instantly destroyed in the impact zone (DM’s discretion).
The shells explode in thunderous force, echoing across the battlefield. The area becomes difficult terrain until cleared.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, you fire one additional shell for each slot level above 7th.
