You Infiltrate the mind of a creature you can see within range. five Psychic links are then established from that target to as many as five other targets of your choice, each of which must be within 60 feet of the first target.2 psychic links are then made from each of those targets to as many as 2 additional targets each within 30 feet of that target.  A target can be a creature or an object and can be targeted by only one of the bolts.

Each target makes a Intelligence saving throw, taking 12d6 Psychic damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. One additional bolt leaps from the first target to another target when cast with a 9th level spell slot.
