You summon a protective swarm of spectral ants that crawl over your body and gear, hardening your defenses with a chitinous shimmer. You gain 5 temporary hit points for the duration.

While you have these temporary hit points, any creature that hits you with a melee attack takes 5 acid damage as the spectral ants lash out in defense, searing their flesh with caustic bites.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, both the temporary hit points and the acid damage increase by 5 for each slot level above 1st.
