"Your magic items are purer than you, I heed the call of the roots of the power that binds them to you. I see the threads that bind you, tenuous things, a bit of purity from these creations, and the threads of your soul--greedy, prideful—and now, I choose to liberate the pure by severing your connection to them. Time to rip them free with my power." --Ohm, speaking in disdain to someone undeserving of the magical gear they have.
You extend your hand and speak the Severing Word, your arcane focus flaring as you reach into the unseen threads binding creature to magic. Targeting a creature within range, you attempt to forcibly unweave the arcane filaments that tether their soul to enchanted items.
Choose one creature you can see within range. That creature must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, you sever the attunement of up to three magic items they are currently attuned to (your choice, or randomly if the DM prefers). These items become unattuned and are nonfunctional until the creature re-attunes to them through the normal process.
Additionally, you instantly learn the names, properties, and curses (if any) of all items affected, as if under the effects of the Identify spell.
On a successful save, the target resists the severance, but you still identify one randomly chosen attuned item.
