You create a blade-shaped thunder cloud about 3 feet long in an unoccupied space you can see within range. The blade lasts for the duration and always begins in attack stance. When you cast this spell, you can make up to two melee spell attacks with the blade, each one against a creature, loose object, or structure within 5 feet of the blade. On a hit, the target takes 4d12 lightning damage. This attack scores a critical hit if the number on the d20 is 18 or higher. On a critical hit, the blade deals an extra 8d12 lightning damage (for a total of 12d12 lightning damage).
You may also replace one of the attacks with a burst of wind in a 60 foot long, 5-foot wide line. All creatures in the area must succeed on a Strength Saving Throw or take 4d12 thunder damage. Additionally, you may choose to push or pull this creature 40 feet in any direction as they are caught up by the gust.
As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the blade up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see and then make up to two melee spell attacks with it again.
Alternatively, you may shift the blade into disaster stance and cause the weather to shift in an 80 foot cube around the blade. When in the area, you are immune to thunder, lightning, cold, and fire damage. On every turn that you maintain this spell, the blade will produce a disastrous storm that causes an effect that you choose based on the following choices, if they fail a Dexterity Saving Throw:
- Deal 8d12 Lightning damage to all creatures in the area. For every second lightning bolt that strikes them, the creature is stunned.
- Deal 8d12 Thunder damage, deafen all creatures not immune or resistant to Thunder damage, and knock them prone.
- Deal 8d12 Fire damage to all creatures in the area. A creature hit by this attack is burned, taking 3d8 fire damage for 3 turns. This effect stacks and each new stack resets the duration of the burn.
- Deal 8d12 Cold damage to all creatures in the area. A creature hit by this attack is slowed, reducing all their speeds by 20 and forcing a -5 penalty on their next Dexterity Saving Throw.
Using the blade in this way removes the ability to make attacks until you bring the blade back to attack stance.
