“Let the tide bind my soul to theirs. Let their steps be light, their shields strong, their hearts unbroken. I am the deep, I am the lightning, I am the storm beneath their keel. Vosthar, mark this pact with salt and pain.”
You call upon the divine tide of Vosthar, god of sacrifice and redemption, and touch up to three willing creatures, linking them to you through threads of storm-wrought divine energy. Until the spell ends, each bonded creature gains the following benefits while they remain within 60 feet of you:
-
The target gains a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws.
-
When a target takes damage, you take half of the damage, and they take the other half.
If a bonded creature would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to take the full damage yourself instead, allowing that creature to drop to 1 hit point. Once you do this for a creature, the bond with that creature ends.
While the spell is active:
-
You cannot regain hit points from any source.
-
If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you have disadvantage on death saving throws and the spell ends.
-
The tether to a creature ends early if the creature dies, you die, or you dismiss the bond to that individual as a bonus action.
