You summon several slender tendrils of void-energy erupting from the ground in a 10-foot radius centered on a point you can see within range. Each tendril lashes out at a different creature of your choice within that area, attempting to grasp their mind and body.

For each target (up to your spellcasting modifier in number), make a separate melee spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 psychic damage and is restrained until the start of your next turn as the tendril coils around them.

Each restrained creature can make a Strength saving throw at the end of their turns, freeing themselves on a success.
At Higher Levels:
The damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
